Coquitlam police are hoping the public can help identify two suspects who allegedly broke into and stole from dozens of storage lockers.
According to police, the break-and-enter was first reported in December 2019. Investigators soon found that thousands of dollars of belongings had been taken from about 20 storage lockers at the same apartment complex located in the 3000-block Guildford Way.
“It’s unusual to see this many storage lockers broken into at the same time, and as a result a lot of people have been victimized,” said Cpl. Michael McLaughlin with Coquitlam RCMP.
“But the quality of this security video is very good, and there’s a good chance someone is going to recognize these suspects and provide the key that will solve this crime.”
Following a five-month investigation, police are now releasing images from the surveillance cameras of two suspects.
The first suspect is a man who appears Caucasian and in his 30s, with a narrow nose and close-set eyes and beard stubble. He is pictured on surveillance footage wearing all-black clothing and a black baseball cap.
The second suspect is a woman who appears to be Caucasian and in her 30s, with a narrow face. At the time the footage was filmed, she was wearing a red jacket and a New York Yankees baseball cap.
Anyone who recognizes the suspects or who may have information about the thefts is asked to contact the Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and ask for Const. Amarveer Ark or cite file number 2019-37603.
